Rediscover Retro

Scottish designer Lana Mackinnon rose to prominence in the 40s and 50s. Part of the arts and crafts set, her playful designs reflect a more prosperous outlook after the troubled war years.

Colourful and quirky, Lana’s abstract designs were extremely advanced for the era and continue to fit with ease amongst contemporary design of today.

Now entrusted with the family, Lana’s legacy has evolved tremendously over the years. Working to continually develop the range, her designs have been used to transform furniture and giftware.

Collaborating with Edinburgh based upholsterers ‘Wee Collective’, this beautiful vintage Parker Knoll chair has been upcycled using the bestselling ‘Mobiles’ design.

The sleek shapes of the chair impeccably compliment Lana’s contrasting colour palette. This flawless piece would sit perfectly amongst any retro interior.

Currently on display at 'The Scottish Design Exchange' at Ocean Terminal shopping centre in Edinburgh, you can view this chair and it’s even available to buy!

Other additions to the range are the beautiful notepads and placemats. Each emblazed with Lana’s unique designs, the rich colours and sumptuous designs are certain to perk up any home. Head down to The Scottish Design Exchange to see the full range.
