Introducing: Archive Views & Walls on Walls

Surface View Blog / 23 Sep 2019

This autumn sees the launch of two new ranges from Surface View – Archive Views and Walls on Walls.

Transforming 5 of our best loved archive murals into contemporary colourways, Archive Views is a range of designs taken from the original panel into repeating designs with 14 new contemporary colourways.

Walls on Walls is a range of six textures and surfaces taken from photographs of real surfaces to create realistic, contemporary wall coverings alongside kaleidoscopic patterns created from the original photographs of surfaces.

Archive Views

Developed from some of our best loved designs in the V&A, Ashmolean Museum and Warner Textile Archive collections, this range of 5 new stunning new designs preserves the craftsmanship of the original documents whilst transforming them into new, contemporary mural patterns in new exciting colourways.

Walls on Walls

Comprising of two types of designs, Walls on Walls explores the use of real life surfaces transformed into mural wallpapers to add texture and intrigue to your walls. Four of the six designs are true to scale designs of brickwork, ivy, metals tiles and concrete boards. Each texture is set up to a realistic scale, making it difficult to spot the difference between these wallpaper mural feature walls from the real thing.

Departing from realistic wall surfaces, we've created two totally new textured pattern designs. Using original photographs of the dilapidated walls of the National Trust's Calke Abbey, each image has been reinvented to take on a completely new guise.  One design is transformed into a sophisticated, horizontal textured effect and the other into a softly textured kaleidoscopic pattern. Both work wonderfully as mural wallpaper and blinds and repeat horizontally.
